I studied chemistry at Glasgow Unversity, then Electronics at Brighton Polytechnic. I then worked for IBM, Compaq and Ciba-Geigy. I've now worked at the Met Office for 8 years. I worked on troubleshooting weather radars for 4 years, and have worked for the last 4 years in the Satellite Instrument Deisgn Section of the Met Office at Farnborough.

How did you get involved in the project?

Along with Rod Barker I went to a Thrust SSC presentation at DERA for the Farnborough Technical Society at the end of 1995. Everything snowballed from then...

Responsibilities in the UK:

Working with Rod we have installed the sensor/instruments wiring to the rear of the car and installed the wiring to front. We've also debugged and diagnosed sensor faults and have dealt with the calibration of the surface pressure sensors.

Responsibilities in the US:

I'll be there to give general instrument support.
